What Is Carbon Black?

Carbon black for rubber reinforcement was discovered in England in the early 1900s. It is currently one of the top 50 industrial chemicals and is used in tire rubber, plastics, inks, toners etc. The use of carbon black extends the life of rubber products and reduces our use of natural resources.

We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) and fostering an inclusive workplace where all employees can contribute, thrive, and grow. As such, Cabot recognizes the purpose of Law No. 14,611/2023. However, Cabot does not agree with the information in the salary transparency report produced by the Ministry of Labor and Employment in March 2024. The methodology adopted by the Ministry of Labor and Employment in the report is not adequate and does not reflect Cabot's current pay equity scenario. The Ministry of Labor and Employment report used outdated data from 2022 and did not compare female and male employees in the same positions. In addition, the Ministry of Labor and Employment report does not consider other relevant factors, such as length of service at Cabot and in the job position and the different performances of employees. However, in compliance with the law and in accordance with Cabot’s commitment to transparency, Cabot publishes below the report produced by the Ministry of Labor and Employment as of March 2024 and is available for any clarification.
